| Reconfiguring a 2-Drive system
Vista died on my RAID-0 configuration. I was able to save my files.
I am reconfiguring my system from scratch and dropping the RAID-0. I am looking for some suggestions on the best way to setup 2 Hitachi 320GB Sara2 Drives on a EVGA 680i SLI MB, with Intel E6850 CPU.
I game about 10% of the time so my EVGA 880GTS/Samsung 226BW is good enough for now.
I am not sure if the RAID-0 died or if Vista died, and I am not looking for that answer here.
Thanks for your help. |

Would Raid-1 do the same thing? Does it have too much overhead? |

RAID 1 only protects from a hard drive failure. If you get a virus or OS corruption, it simply mirrors the problem too. |

And I would go 1 step further and put the second drive in an EXTERNAL case. Only plug in when you need to backup and it will survive (hopefully) if the one in the main computer gets fried on a power surge/outage. Plus, you have portability should you wish to use it elsewhere |

Unless there is tornado, house fire, etc.
You may also consider online backup. |
