Im looking for a new hard drive for my computer, im finally running out of space, and i need more for my music collection (currently sitting on an external drive over our wifi)....
right now i have Seagate Technology - Barracuda 7200.7
and for my next hard drive i am looking for 200+gigs of memory, but im also looking for speed more than anything. It has a 8.5ms read time, but im looking for something blazingly fast! So i would rather sacrifice memory over speed, but id really like to have over 200 gigs! Im not 100% sure what to look for, thanks for your help
Ryan

Sorry, but your motherboard doesn't support Sata. You will need a PATA (also called ATA or IDE) drive.
Or you can also install a SATA controller card if you have an open PCI slot. |

I'm not familiar with AMD CPUs so I can't give you a definite answer but offhand I would say no it would be neither simpler nor cheaper to install a new motherboard. I would think you would also have to replace the CPU, memory and/or the video card if you install a new motherboard with SATA capabilities.
Maybe someone familiar with AMD CPUs can give you a better answer. |
