| Scsi discs recognized, but not really, what do I do??
Hey guys,
I am completely new to putting together a scsi system, and ofcourse someone will know here what to do.
I have an Asus TR-DLS motherboard, with an onboard scsi controller, the LSI 53C1010r.
I have 4 u320 compaq scsi discs connected to it through converters, as they have a SCA connecter.
When I boot up the system, the harddiscs show up, all of them, but when I load win2k3 setup, and load the drivers from the floppy, it later on says it can't see any harddiscs.
Anyone got a clue as to what to do??
I did notice that the converters have jumpers on them, with choices for scsi ID 0-1-2 and 3
When I hook up the harddiscs, the cable has 4 connectors, does the harddisc that is on the 1st connector HAVE TO be scsi ID 0 on the converter?? And so on??
Thanks for any help

never mind, I found the problem.
I had the jumpers on the converters set wrong, now I corrected it, and both drives are seen in boot and setup.
Flying away on U320, really doubting if I'm gonne put a scsi controller in my desktop when I upgrade and put these U320 discs on raid 0 for booting.
Raid 0 on U320 15k is a lot faster then any Raptor will ever be. |
