It's mostly just a matter of chance. I've owned wd's since the 210mb version(which i still use). But the only samsung i had is just about dead(again).

Western DIGITAL

yea I agree. WESTERN DIGITAL SUX. They have changed their RMA policy. before they would rma any drive as long as it has not been rma'd before. now they offer only a 2-3 years and then they tell u its out of warranty. I bought a 300gb to replace my 160, 6 MONTHS and its dead. Of course they will rma that one, but what about the endless days to get the data back. I can recall sending back 8gb drives that were almost 7 years old, and them sending a 10gb as replacement. As you all know their rma drives are other customers dead drives they fix. So what was the big deal of sending its customers a RMA on any drive as long as the DLG proves its in their making of the drive and not the customers fault.. Bottom line western digital has gone to hell, and we own a very successful business with a whole store front of Western digital products. After talking to western digital today, I've sent the whole product line BACK to western digital and ordered all maxtor.. If you want to worry about loosing your info on a drive less the 6 months old Buy a Western Digital. They make these drives so soon as u fill them they die. They come from the factor with so many bad sectors and they just mark them bad.. Western Digital has screwed over the wrong company, and I hope the world know just what kind of products they are selling.
