    F drive Access denied.

Help Please. Whenever I insert the USB memory stick it doesn't open by itself. When I go to my computer and try to open it I get a message saying F:\ Access is denied. But when I right click and press explore the USB opens. If I go to properties and go to tools tab and try to fix the problem with error checking thing, It works but when I re-insert it same thing happens all over again.

does the malware reduce disk space, cause there are no files on my f drive, i moved them and yet it shows there is only 50% space or could it be that the malware hid them cause when i scan the f drive it shows that it is scanning all the files that disappeared from the f drive

    Bingo.

Avast is not the best AV software. Use a trial version of Kaspersky.

Ok i have good news and bad news, i finally found out how to view the hidden files which the "show hidden files and folder" option couldn't do. what i did was disable the option Hide protected operating system files (Recommended). And when i opened my f drive I saw 5 folders. First one is called "fautorun.inf", the second one is "my music" the size is 340 mb so im guessing thats the folder with the music that disappeared, the other one is called "OHS Modules 1&2" the next folder is an album i think and its called " power ballin" which i made, the last one is called "RECYCLER". I dont remember making a file called RECYCLER on my f drive nor the OHS Mudule 1&2. Could the "fautorun.inf" be the malware, which ones should i delete, and will it solve the problem by deleting the "fautorun.inf" and I want to see the folders My music and the other album without disabling the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) cause it shows a lot of unnecessary files in nearly every folder. When i single click on any file, in the details section on the right it says attributes: hidden. I have not opened any of the files. Reply please

You don't need to tell me to reply and shouldn't anyway because it's rude.

Yes - delete the fautorun.inf file. It was created by malware. Whatever you're doing security-wise, it's not enough. Try paying for a full antivirus like NOD32 instead of counting on a free one to do the job. Run a spyware app full-time. Use Spywareblaster and keep it updated.

Select a group of files on this drive that you want to unhide. Right-click and select Properties. De-select "Hidden".

Honestly, you should just get used to looking at all the hidden files. You're just fooling yourself by hiding them. Choosing to ignore important stuff is what got you in trouble in the first place.

    E drive access denied

    Hello Bill

I am having the same trouble Alfoo was having, I had a trojan on my memory stick. I got rid of it, but still can only get into my memory stick if I right click on it and click explore.

    Can you please help me?
    Thanks

    Bill

I didn't find that "autorun.inf" that you were talking about, but I deleted a now empty folder that I am sure had something in it before I got the infection and it seems to be working now.

I double clicked the drive and it opened without problem.

    Thanks again for your help!!!
