Good free data recovery app?

Anyone know of a good free app to recover corrupt pictures? Ok I dont mind paying even $20 or $30, but most of the apps out there want like $70.

Thanks

Course there are a few hundred threads here asking the same question

Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home

i argue that if your data are really important, i think $70 is nothing...

may be you can write a e-mail to the data recovery software company or resellers and ask for a discount....

i wrote a mail to Easeus, and they gave me 20% off...about 3 month ago

may be you can try.

Seems like it could be SPAM to me... All (2 so far) posts have been directing to the same site...

I hope it isn't, but can't help but to think that....

Well pullmyfoot, in my computer repair "business" data recovery is a daily necessity and I am admittedly not surprised at your lack of a free solution.

Another awesome Techmolian suggested to me some time ago:

Knoppix Linux Boot CD, Download Disk and Documents, Discuss, Get Help

I can assure you that after personally testing it lacks the automated features of it's more "professional" and expensive Windows competition, is every bit as powerful and most times much more resourceful if you can force yourself past that dirty "Linux" word.

Truly the only instance where data recovery of fat/ntfs in Linux might be challenging is in cases of hard drive corruption. Small fry

**Disclaimer**

If you take offense to my written text again, oh well. No soup for you!

hi

U c even i searched for some free utility to recover my data, but was unable to find it. So, i would suggest you to purchase a software that is devised to recover particular kind of data. The one that i know is Kernel for Digital. I just hope it helps you, coz i used it and i was very much satisfied with the way it worked.
