| How many Firewire controllers in a laptop??
Hi there, I have an embarassing question, regarding hardware and controllers..
the question is: how many controllers are there in a laptop? Let's say it has one "integrated" Firewire "plug", so it should have 1 Firewire controller, in order to interface between the computer bus and the Firewire bus, right? Let's say I buy a PCMCIA card, and I plug it into the slot of my laptop.. now I should have 2 Firewire controllers, linking the 2 Firewire bus to the main bus of the computer.. is it right?
I just want to know if my thoughts are right..  I have to write a thesis and I want to be sure about this elementary hardware klowledge...
