|  external dvdrw error I/O
I have a HP Pavillion laptop dv7-1105tx,Vista Premium.I bought an external usb 2.0 dvd rw (Sony Slim Portable , DRX-S7OU-R) which is supposed to be compatible with Vista,Windows, nero & the" ideal companion for your notebook" However every time I try to burn a disc, Verbatim DVD+DL,I either get I/O error (with Imageburn) or "the disc in the drive is not recordable (Windows Dvd Maker) & also windows freezes up when I close the drive door with a disc in it, but is okay when the door is open.I have tried to upgrade the driver, and the drive is recognised by & according to Device manager, working correctly.I have cleaned the registry etc, unplugged the drive and plugged it back in,rebooted,but still no good. Can anyone help me please or should I just give up and return the drive to Dick Smith? My laptop built in drive works fine but is not DL.  |
