Hey guys,
I'm looking at a new desktop hard drive. My current one is a 7200 rpm hard drive, only 250gb. I'm looking for something similar storage, but upping the rpm to 10,000? I hear there are 15,000 ones as well, but not sure how stable they are (or how much heat/noise they put out).
Any recommendations on a good hard drive upgrade? Money not really an issue.

Hmm, SSD is not out of my budget, but is it really worth it? How do I combat the 2.5" bay? I assume there is some sort of an insert?
I haven't read up much on SSD (aside from what it literally is), but I assume I could use that to boot my OS and games/major apps (photoshop etc.) and use my current 250gb hard drive for videos/random storage?
Thanks! |

Thanks! | That is exactly what you should do.

TBH, I wouldn't yet recommend an SSD, they are still very costly ($200 for that velociraptor seems like an even worse idea though). I am expecting that before the end of the year Intel is going to be releasing new SSDs, which will likely be much cheaper and faster than their current ones (the Intel drives are fastest consumer SSDs out now). |
