Vista: Can't access my storage partition

Uninstalled XP and installed vista today, When everything was done. I tried to access my storage partition and i get this message:

"D:\ is not accessible the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

I have tried to change the drive letter for it, and that didn't work.

I can access the partition in ubuntu and use the files.

any ideas??

EDIT: my storage partition is NTFS
and everytime vista starts it does a chkdsk on it
