Raid 0 Adding HD Later

Hey guys,

I have been searching everywhere for this. Hope its simple. I have set up a raid 0 with 3 drives. I started with 4 drives but had to rma one. Went ahead with the 3 just so I have a working pc. Installed just the OS. When I get my 4th drive back can I add it without loss of data? If so I would like to finish installing everything and resore my data now.

Please let me know if I should wait or if I can go ahead and just add the drive to the aray with no data loss when it arrives.

Ugh, why are you setting up Raid 0 with 4 drives and worried at all about data loss?

Yea I know but I back up everything external. Just looking for performance. I started with a raid 5 and could go that way. But since I b/u anyway.... and this is home pc... well you get it. Please help!!! this is my first raid venture. Just want to complete it... but not if I will need to do it again in a few days.

To add the extra drive you will have to format all the drives and reinstal the OS again on the 4 drives.
