So I want to set up the two 300GB SAS drives in a RAID 0 config and run it as the OS C: drive.
According to the motherboard manual you have to enable the Marvell SAS Raid in the BIOS and as you can see from this first photo I have done that.
The next step is to boot into the RAID BIOS setup utility by hitting <CTRL> + <M> on boot.
The manual states that it will NOT open the SAS RAID setup utility unless it detects two SAS drives plugged into the proper ports on the motherboard. As you can see by this next photo, it must be detecting the drives because it does enter the utility screen.
I'm not sure how to proceed from this point. The drives are properly connected to the MB and powered. I can hear and if I touch, feel them spinning up.
There are no jumpers or settings directly on the drives themselves.
I haven't even attempted to install the OS yet because I'm downloading a copy of Win7 on the 22nd as soon as it's available.
I'm just hoping to have as much ready as possible for when the OS is here.
Thanks Steve - I had posted the same issue on another forum and received a link to the very same post.
My problem is fixed...a few other minor ones have popped up. I'm out of town now for a few days but I'll be back to work out my problems later this week.
