Drive 0 not found: Serial ATA, Sata-0

Ok, so I was going to uninstall Oblivion due to my own fault.
The launcher said to find the .exe on the CD so I opened my F Drive (DVD BR) and clicked on something that sparted with MSoft, it was very quick and did happen to uninstall oblivion, However now my Drive is gone and the open button will not work, It's not listed under My Computer anymore and when I reboot it gives my this message.

Drive 0 not found: Serial ATA, Sata-0
Drive 2 not found: Serial ATA, Sata-2

The basic press F1 to continue and F2 for settings.

I did a System restore hoping that would fix it but it didn't. Allthough it did bring oblivion back so now I'm just pissed off. Is there anyway to fix it?

If it helps I'm using Vista 32 bit.

All optical drives use the same generic drivers. This is a BIOS issue, so system restore is a waste of time and effort. I would try resetting BIOS defaults.

I see, That would make sence as to why nothing happend apon restore lol.

So resetting the BIOS huh? Is that something I could do easily? How would one go about resetting the BIOS anyway?

    Thanks

I don't know what system you have but normally you boot to the BIOS, look around and find the place where you set BIOS defaults.

That is a jumper reset, you probably only need to reset in the BIOS set up screens.
    No operating system involved.
When the computer first starts, if you can see the POST screen ( displays drives and counts the memory ect.), at the bottom of the screen it will say press XX to enter setup.

You have to press XX before that screen goes away.
On the Dells I have XX is F2, but some used the Delete key.

If you can't see the POST screen, just start pushing the F2 key repeatedly, as soon as you start the computer.( don't hold it down)

If that doesn't work, try the Delete key.

When you get in, the first screen is the menu, usually 1 of the items is "set to default" or something like that.

Let us know how you make out, or if you have trouble getting into the BIOS.

Ok, heres what happened. It was F2 that took me to the System screen
I looked it over and dicided that Boot Sequence was my best bet. I wasn't sure what to look for, nothing said BIOS. However under boot sequence I got this.

    1. Onboard or USB Floppy Drive
    2. Onboard SATA Hard Drive
    3. WDC WB3200AAKS-755BA
    4. Onboard or USB CD-Rom Drive
    5. USB Device

Numbers 3,4,5 could not be found.

Um, you were in the BIOS, there isn't something you look for in there that says it. The BIOS is what stores the hardware settings for the computer. The F2 gets you into the BIOS (settings)
the fact that it reads: 3. WDC WB3200AAKS-755BA tells us the BIOS is recognizing that drive as existing, plus you said you still got in and ran a system restore.

Sounds like we need more info. How many hard drives and optical drives do you have, so we can determine what's actually missing in the BIOS, and are they SATA or PATA?
