External HDD connected to un-clean PC

I have an external HDD that was connected to a PC with possible viruses, but I want to use it on my main PC, which is clean and I want it to remain clean. So how can I connect the HDD to the other PC without transporting any possible viruses? Thanks.

Make sure you have a good AV program, and it is properly installed on your main computer. I suggest Avast, or AVG free but there are many good other anti-virus programs.

If you need or want any information on the hard drive:
HOLD DOWN shift key when you insert the connection(Im guessing USB), once it is connected, open explorer, and RIGHT CLICK(DO NOT double click the drive!) and select "scan this drive" in the menu.

IF you do not need any of the information on the hard drive, when you right click on it, you can select format, and format the drive(do the regular format, not quick), which will destroy any malware.
They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.
