Internal IDE to SATA bay
I've been looking around all day and haven't been able to find what I am looking for, but I am pretty sure I have seen that they exist.
My family and friends are on a new computer kick, and are sad to find out that their new mobos dont come with IDE ports, rendering their old data unreachable. Given that it often falls to me to fix these issues, I have booted up an old computer and am slowly doing transferring.
What I would LIKE to do, is find an piece of hardware that screws into a 5.25 bay and will simply accept an IDE hard disk. It would have IDE and MOLEX receivers and on the back would have SATA power and data out.
Does this exist? Can anyone link me to one?
Thanks in advance.

There are a HUGE number of external cases for IDE drives that plug in via USB/Firewire.
Have you looked for PCI cards that accept an IDE cable? The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

I appreciate the response, but I have seen all of these things. I wanted an internal enclosure, but it looks like that product is not made.
I guess an external case is the best I am going to be able to do.

That is because it would be redundant, with using an adapter, and mounting the hard drive in the normal place.
They make removable drive bays, but not for IDE, because they are not hot swapable.

Steve, That's weird, every time I click the link the first one and the second one trade places.
I see now why you saw it as the first one.Hard Sayin Not Knowin

I think I get what you are asking.
Basically like those sata docks they offer but internally and for IDE.
Now on the sata drives the position of the power connector and sata data connector are standardized and so for example on my external enclosure any drive would just slide right in and match up.
I am not certain if the positioning of the data and power connectors is standardized on IDE drives. They seem to be usually in the same spot but maybe some manufacturers place the power on the opposite side?
Plus the other issue is those 4 power prongs arent really made to be pushed in from the drive end and they can get slightly off center, its far easier to push the power plug into the drive than the drive into the power plug.
