need a good HD backup CD maker.

hey, just learned about this forum looking forward to it, but I'm here for a reason! i need a good FREEWARE backup maker, basically i need to be able (after a fresh install) make an image and burn it to a cd that is bootable to restore the computer. alot of my computers dont have cd burners so i need to be able to transfer the image to another computer over the network and burn it. if you guys have any ideas i dont need a server based network install i need CD's (for my mom and my paps). if you guys got any ideas all input would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Have you had a look at ImageX, which (IIRC) is part of the Windows Automated Installation Kit "WAIK" that you can download from the M$ site and deal with...?

actually i have, i am in school for my CCNA and am already done with all the A+ plus my windows server classes and WAIK is terrible IMO thats my alternative if i cant find say a good replication of ghost or something. ive had many errors with WAIK.

im actually looking at Macrium Reflect, imma try it out today ill let ya know how it goes i think it also has network multicast support.

You have to bear in mind that you're just an entity on a message board, we have no idea (especially with your first two posts) of how good you are with a computer...

You may also want to have a butchers through the "Apps" link in my sig (sigs only get added to the first post per page from each user) as there may well be one in there that will fit the bill.............and might not even have a bill for you to pay either... I've had a decent amount of success with ImageX myself, and even taught a few other where I was working how to get it to work and do what was needed..
