Question Make WIN XP recognize full HD capacity

Hello users, first of all i want to say hi to you all , i never joined any computer related forums other than gaming and this forum(s) seems to be really cool dealing with the computer world.

Im going to try to make this a short story and problem even tho i know its not going to be short.

i have this netbook (aspire one) and it comes with a hitachi 160 gb sata hd.
windows xp reads only 139 GB instead of 160GB, I know this always happens and i never really cared about it until now, because I need to use 150GB out of 160GB.

Is there anyway to install Windows XP again and make sure c:\ will be 160 gb or so? or if theres a tool to make windows recognize the full 160GB without reinstalling Windows XP.

I have no plans to connect this computer to the internet, so installing windows xp 32bit (NO SPS) is fine, how many MBs or GBs does a new install take? because I would only have 10 GB left.

the goal is to use 150GB for some files, and use the rest (10GB) for Windows XP, I dont need anymore room, im not using this netbook to connect to the internet, games ,etc...

I'm trying to avoid buying/replacing the Hard drive, using a super 200GB flashdrive or doing this on a different computer, I have to use this one.

Its just not possible, a drives advertised size is never equivalent to that of the actual size.

Perhaps you could better explain why you need the extra space and we could give you a solution to that problem.

well i dont think i will be able to do what i wanted to do. I will be replacing the hard drive, or using a different laptop.

Thank you Richeemx i never realized what you just said, because i never used the whole space on a hard drive. Hope this helps others.
