    Question Mirroring SSD with SATA

Will Mirroring a SSD with a SATA drive cause a bottleneck? I plan on using RAID 1 so that just incase the SSD fails I'll have the backup.

Yes you will run into a slow down as the data is being written to the SATA drive. Would it be something very noticeable for daily usage? Meh probably not, if you are gaming on it or something maybe. Also you will lose space on the SATA drive if they aren't the same space, but since you are doing a raid 1 it doesn't really matter.

Scroll down to: Comparison of SSD with hard disk drives and you will see the slow downs you will have with the two drives.

One thing I don't get is that I own a thin client and it has a flash drive but the speed is around 10MB/s. I thought it would be faster.
