    How to fix a S.M.A.R.T error from a laptop hard drive?

     
    My laptop shows up this problem ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

    I was told in another section that I need to scan the hard drive, but I'm having problems finding the right tool to scan it. The hard drive that I have is a Toshiba non-Fijitsu brand. My laptop is a older 2010 HP laptop. Can someone please tell me if this error is fixable?
    I tired using the back up cds to restore my system.. it would get through it but when it restarts, I get this same error.

    Please help me.
