Hard Drive for Dell Inspiron 600m
I have a Dell Inspiron 600m and an Acer Aspire 5520. The Acer no longer works, but I think the hard drive in it is fine. The hard drive on my Dell Inspiron 600m is supposedly failing. Would it be possible for me to replace my Dell Inspiron 600m harddrive with the Acer Aspire harddrive? Does it make a difference that I have two different OS on the harddrive. I think I can do this repair myself, I just need to know if the Acer harddrive is compatible with my Dell.

You can use the hard drive, but not the operating system. You will have to reinstall a new OS on the Dell including Dell drivers.

Hi Archaeo,
No, the Inspiron 600m uses the older IDE type drive. These hard drives are not interchangable.
