Hello. I've never owned or setup a server before. I put two 2 TB drives and one 500 gb drive into the NAS. I did the setup and all the hard drive initialization. I was really stupid in assuming that all my music/videos that was on these drives would just be available when setup was complete.

RAID Disks:

Ch 1 : WDC WD20EARS-00MVWB0 [1862 GB] 461 GB allocated
Ch 2 : WDC WD20EARS-00MVWB0 [1862 GB] 461 GB allocated
Ch 3 : Maxtor 3H500F0 [465 GB] 461 GB allocated

Did the setup format the drives? Is all my data gone? Can I just put the drives back into my computer and see the data?

I did find some info that said the allocated space would be determined by the lowest volume. I don't need the 500 gb drive if removing it will increase by storage allocation

How would you set this up?
