How to setup SSD and HD Combo?

I'm wondering, How would I setup my SSD and HD? I'd like to have my OS boot from the SSD as well as some important programs I may need and everything else go onto the HD. Would I just install the OS onto the SSD normally then whenever I install new things, just choose to install them onto the HD? I'm worried my SSD might get filled up real quick if I did. So if anyone could provide some advice or maybe a guide, that would be really helpful.

I apologize if I put this in the wrong category.

You have it right. I have a SSD and I cloned the OS to the SSD along with some programs to launch faster. All the other stuff goes on the other drive.

Oh okay so it's easier then I thought Phew. People were talking about changing registry and make 2 different windows accounts and stuff, so I thought it was super complicated.

just be aware that Windows can take upwards of 1/3 of the SSD if your getting a 60GB drive, after formatting. I've seen Win7 installs anywhere from 12-16GB upwards of 20+GB.

Also if your getting an Intel Z68 chipset motherboard, you could set up part of the left over drive space on the SSD for the Smart Response Feature, that basically uses the SSD as a Caching drive for software off the regular rotational drives.

Though running directly off the SSD would be faster, but if your programs and software total capacity is looking like it would exceed 30-40GB of stuff, might be better to just set up SRT and install the stuff to the regular drive, rather than having some software on the SSD and the rest that you'd like to have sped up, stuck on the HDD.
