| "reader" on cd rw won't disengage-so it won't eject
I have taken it apart and it is not an eject prob - why is this happening and what can fix it???

Sorry-- It is a Sony CD-R/RW Drive Model#CRX140E. If there is no disk in the drive it wil open fine, but once the "reader" (not sure of tech term for this) engages it stays engaged.
98SE OS
Not sure what other info you may need. |

i had the same problem with a regular cd drive before. never could fix it. this is purely a guess, but maybe just maybe you could try reinstalling the drivers. although i dont know, it is probably not a hardware problem i would think. good luck!

EvilRick, not sure what you mean, I have a CD-R in the drive right now but have never had this prob before with same media- am I missing what your saying? thax for reply
the d/l says for users that do NOT own Easy CD Creator--and I do does that matter?
I have to go to work soon (15 min) but will check for replys after 11pmEST
