Help Burning .img

PROBLEM 1
How can I burn an .img file w/nero? When I select 'file' 'burn image' there is no option available for .img. despite this fact I can still select view all files.

PROBLEM 2
The .img file I want to burn is 752MB and will not fit on an 80min cd. Is there any way I can reduce the size or an I screwed?

Id apreciate any help.

Ok, this is going from memory, (long ago)
You will have to get a program called bin2iso and you MUST have the .cue file.

or you can use goldenhawk cdrwin to burn this image directly (recommended) (Or cloneCD wil work also, if there is a CCD file make sure that's included)

As for the size, that should fit on an 80minute CD, just because the image file is larger then the CD doesn't mean it won't fit I have some that are 725Mb and fit on 74min CD's

edit: added info from below

Also you should buy any software you may want, it is legal to make backups of your own software, however illegal to use others backups.

As for not fitting on an 80 min cdr, the img contains the cd image plus header info. Once you load the img file in the right burning software and look at the total time it should be less than 80.

Welcome to Techimo yohon125

Here is a link to a short article I wrote for Virtual-Linux.org about burning images with Nero.

Thanks for all the replies so far.

Ok, here is what I did. I used winiso to convert the .img file to .iso. After doing this everything looked as though it was going to work out fine. I loaded up nero and selected the newly created .iso file to burn. Then nero says 'generating relocation information' and slows down my pc incredibly. In the end it fails and an error message pops up saying 'unexpected exception.'

I will continue trying to figure out a way to make this work. Please give me something to try.
