    HD Sector Skipper

     
    Hey all! I need a program which will allow me to set certain sectors as bad so the OS will not use them. I know a certain sector of this HD is bad, but I can't get scandisk to ever get to it. Keep restarting and seems to hang before it even gets there. The system runs ok, but I want to head this off and mark this sector as bad so the OS won't use it. Any ideas?? Thanks so much.

    I'd suggest backing-up, low-level formating (which will reassign bad sectors), and restoring the data.
