seems I've forgotten too much DOS! What is the switch with a "type" command to make it paginate? Forgot to change the jumper to master on the Iomega drive, but it is recognized on boot via the floppy.

And also, CBB, the old Mat drive is definitely NOT a CDRW, it's a 2x CDR [or in this case, NOT R!]

Ok, What do you mean paginate?

Not sure I know that word, but if you mean page break, it's

Type blah.txt |more

And for directories, it's just dir /p

And Throw that matsushita drive out, unless you have the old soundcard it was hooked up to and a tonne of patience (and that time is not worth the 25$ to replace it with a faster drive that's IDE )

thanks, wiz, forgot the space between the t and the pipe

just did it -- "type readme.txt |more" doesn't

Well, When it boots, did it tell you what drive letter the CDrom was assigned to?

just type in x: (X is your CDrom drive letter) then hit enter

Then you are on the CDrom drive.

AFAIK you cannot set the CDrom to be drive A:.

If it doesn't tell you the CDrom drive letter, let me know what bootdisk you ran and I'll letcha know.

Re: CD-ROM

Some Packard Bells automatically assigned the single CD-ROM (or CD-RW) as drive "Q".
