    Best way to backup?

    I have two drives

My main drive 100GB with 4 partitions.

My old drive from my past computer, 40GB

What would be the best way to do automatic backups for 3 partitions from my 100GB?

well what kind of back up are you looking for? if you just want some files, maybe a sync program is what you want. iomega quicksync is good for that. if you want full blown back ups, just use M$' back up. the gripe i have about that is that it stores the entire back up in 1 file. i dont trust it.

if you have a cdwriter use ghost to make image dumps to cd. in a little while you have your own restore cd's custom made which is great.

I heard this doesn't work with XP, what else can i do with it?

Also, i'm backing up over 2GB so cd's won't work, and i don't want a dvd burner just yet..

    You could try http://www.xxcopy.com

Basically a souped up version of xcopy. There is a freeware version if you're not copying through a network (doesn't look like you are). Look up the CLONE option, and get used to using scheduler to run it at specific times.

    Good luck.

NTI Backup will do the backup and span over several cd's.
