backup help please

after I lost several playstation 2 games because of scratches, i bought a DVD-RW for the sole purpose of backing up my ps2 games. however, i tried a DVD to DVD copy with nero and the backup did not work with my modded PS2. does anyone have any suggestion regarding how to properly back up PS2 games? thanx

Yeah, CloneCD is a great backup tool. It doesn't have all the 'copyrights' flak problems as some do, and is pretty flexible.

FantomCD is a great one too, but haven't had as much success in burning backups as I've had with CloneCD as far as integrity in exact digital copies.
