I don't think you have a problem, if you can see that the volume on the drive is 7.5GB. It is probably just a quirk in the defrag program. It may be counting space used as virtual memory by windows as space used. Or, it may be some other as yet unknown parameter of HDD use by WindowsXP.

It's not Virtula memory either...It's set at 256mb. This ticks me off. I've never had this problem before.

There it also says that there is 27GB taken up! This is impossible. I dont even own 27GB of software.

Have you done a checkdisk lately?

Right click on the drive and get to the tools tab. Error checking status or something. You'll have to restart the PC so it can run the program.

Edit - Did you Fdisk when you reformatted?
