You no longer need to guess! This free stability scan and registry cleaner download will give you a complete diagnosis of your Windows registry, identifying errors and conflicts.
Welcome to the forum..there are lots of nice and knowledgeable people here to help you (and me) out with our tech problems.
Hmm, I dont know the answer to that one but hang on and some other people will surely help you out. The only thing I can think of is that about 95% of hard drive problems are either power plug or jumper problems....but the usb enclosure adds some different wrinkles that I am not too familiar with....perhaps the drive has to be partitioned before it is put in the enclosure? What did the instructions with the enclosure say about it??

You will need to partition and format the drive before you can see it in my computer.
You can do this by going to Computer Management and then select Disk Management. From here you can see the disks you have installed on your PC.
If the external hard drive is installed correctly you should be able to see it.
I know this is an old post and all, but I did a forum search for the topic "usb hard drive format" and williamy your advice helped. I didn't want to start a new thread for this topic isn't new.
