Backup Question

for backup purposes, which would be better:

1) have 2 or 3 hard drives in raid so that they all share the same data, that way if one fails, the others still have the data

or

2) to use a tapedrive (i dont have any experience with these and know little about them

or 3) something else

im not in need of a backup system, i just wanted to know for future reference

thanks!

drew

Maybe do what i do, have two hard drives and just backup to the second hard drive.

Or you can use ghost and put the ghost image on the second drive

i would use ghost if you need to back up everything but I usually just burn CDs of data and don't really worry about the software..

If you plan to use Raid, make sure you get the right one, as not all of the Raid types are redundant data backups (Raid 0, for example is just stripping and does not provide redundant backup)
