I was testing a ~500mb hard disk in one of my systems, The system and it's 13.6gb drive worked before this. I put the small drive in as a slave, and started teh system up. I quickly looked and realized I still had the drive jumpered to master, but then also realized that the power connection was not completely in the drive...one side was out slightly. I quickly shut the system off, and disconnected the power for a while, hoping nothing happened (and went ahead and switched the jumper to Slave)...but when I boot up neither drive works anymore.
Isn't there something I can do to get my drives working again?

Did you disconnect the smaller drive to see if the larger one is still working? Thats the first step...check your bios settings sometime when you make lil goofs it'll mess up the settings in your bios. | |

Yes, I've tried booting with nothing connected but them individually...neither work still...the BIOS is what won't pick the drives up. |

some psu's require a certain load on different cables. you might have to check them load requirements on the psu.. |

They worked before like this though...I'm worried I've fried both drives totally. |

Yeah, they spin up, and I can hear clicking when they first power up too. I go into the BIOS to detect them, it tries for about 10 seconds, then gives up and won't recognize it. Maybe if I set everything manually it would work? |
