| Where to put the new hard humongus hard drive..
I got it! The one from Sams, the WD 100 gig hard drive.
Now where to put it..
Here's what I have.. - 1 ECS K75A with a 1.4 birdy and 512mg of Crucial L2 RAM and a 20 gig Fugitsu 5400 hard drive.
1 PCchips 805ML with an 800 Duron and 1gig of Crucial L3 and a 30 gig Maxtor 7200.
1 Abit KT7 Raid (not set up for RAID) with a 750 Duron (overclocked to 773 hey! baby steps!) 768mg of L3 Ram and a 60 gig hard drive Maxtor 7200 .
1 PCchips 805ML with an 900 Duron and 384meg of L3 RAM and 30 gig Maxtor 7200.
I have an MSI K7Pro Turbo too,, and another 900 Duron and another 256 Meg of RAM to be worked on when I get back.. I'm not sure if the board is dead or not...
They all run XP Pro.
They are all networked.
I know you prolly have some better ideas on how I have everyone configured too.. So I'd like to hear any advice you have to offer |

If it's a 7200RPM drive, then I'd replace the 5400 RPM Fujitsu with it.
I had no idea you had such a mean herd, Surreal! Have you ever heard of this little project called ECCp? |

right onto the 1.4 tbird... you'd get so much better performance with an ata100 7200 rpm drive. |

Well, I'm the same with ECCp, therefore I had to try!
Anyway, toss that drive in with your 'birdy-- it'll probably make a noticable difference in it's responsiveness.
Just do it quick....you don't want to lose valuable CPU time!! |

I guess if you are a female you can call it a birdy!..
I don't think that would work for me!
What is UD anyway?

SPEEDO!!! I never thought you'd ask!!!
And so glad you did!!
It stands for United Devices.. read about it on the TechIMO Teams page ,,
UD is one of a few different Teams we have at TechIMO.
We have, the Cancer Research (UD), Setti (yoo hoo ET?),
Eccp (elliptical curves??), Genetic research (folding at home)..
Well obviously I don't know a lot, but ck out the page and join a TEAM!!!! (we'd love to have you on UD too, but I know every team would love to have you) You get a groovy screen saver with some of em for free!
BEWARE: UD is addictive.. if you don't belive it read this thread.. I am up to 4 computers only becuase of UD and I am going to get one or two more up after the Holidays Quote: |
