Seagate Backup IDE device
I have a Seagate IDE 20/40 travan backup device on a Win NT 4.0 server. The device works fine and the server communicates fine with the device. I am running veritas 8.0 as the backup software. It seems that I had it backing up manually just fine, but now I cannot even get that to work. I run the job and just when the job is submitted it says "loading media", then the tape is ejected out of the system. I have 5 new tapes which are compatible with the device, but they all do the same thing. Anyone know of a fix for this?

The tape stays in normally, it only ejects right while loading the media.

The backup tape at my office on our NT server has an "eject option" in the preferences. We use the ARC Serve software. You might also try something simple like cleaning the heads.
