How about a quick reply box under each thread, like is on voogru's forum?. Not sure if you can access this if not registered at the site.
But for those who can or have seen this feature, what do you think?
I like it a lot! I don't expect 100% agreement here though

If you are in a thread, there is a box at the bottom of each page you can type a small quick reply into.
Not designed for long text replies or other enhanced stuff (like quotes)

One good thing of it though, would be less stress on the server seeing as it would not be serving as many pages.
*shrug* I liked it, really helps save time seeing as you dont have to wait for a new page to load up just to say a quick comment.
Not to mention with large number of small pics these pages have, the page has to render them every time.
Granted their typically cached, but its still gotta be placed for every image. |

I like it too. I understand that it might be a pain if Scott were to update the software later though.

Actually the Quick reply hack is a pretty simple one and would allow for relatively simple upgrades. When you get into some of the other hacks that Voogru and I have done to our boards is when it starts to get harder to upgrade to the newer versions of the forum software. |
