    Allowed file type attachments...

I just ran into two major file types that for some reason we don't allow as attachments to posts.

AI - Adobe Illustrator files, and
    RAR - RAR compressed files

If there is a reason why these formats are not allowed, then fine. But otherwise I think we should add them to the acceptable file types that can be attached to a members post. Especially RAR. I was quite surprised to discovered it's excluded from the allowable file types.

    Thanks.

    you can post zip files.

that might resolve the rar problem.

the ai's might be a problem for some people to open..........if they didn't have adobe apps installed?

for some reason a lot of people use .zip file compression rather than .rar winxp has a built in file compression and decompression with .zip file extension.

yeah would be nice if you can compress .ai file so file will be compress and minimize file size

also regarding doddsy comment about opening the .ai file by many other users, you can also create .PDF file

We allow Photoshop files, so why not Illustrator files. Whether some people can open them or not seems irrelevant.

RAR files would be extremely handy because if needed you can break up a file into smaller parts that would be attachable to a post. For example, if you have 400Kb file that does not compress very well then currently there's no way to attach that file to one of your post. But if RAR were allowed then you could use RAR to break up that 400kb file into 4 x 100kb files. You could then attach all those files to one of your post.

Not really. Anyway, I have added AI and RAR support.
