I think including it in a subscription plan would be a great idea.
I don't really see any value in the argument against this idea. No one would be forced to use the AO forum. |

Granted it would keep me here more often.. but isn't this a tech forum?
so many adult forums out there... I would like to stay at one URL for all my online needs but I don't think it will happen.
had to put in my 2 c's.

On a more serious note... an adult forum? Sure, why not.
But "Adult" should not mean no holds barred when it comes to forum decorum =) That is, a personal attack is still a personal attack and should be treated as such via moderation. PM's work just fine for members to tell other members how they really, really feel about them.
How would you define what an "adult" topic is? global warming? politics? religion? drugs? fetishes? syrup or jelly? Goatse? What would be left to talk about in the regular forum?
I am all for opening up the topics of discussion a bit and playing looser with the language... but if it is going to be a forum free for all bash fest... well there are plenty other crapholes on the net like that as it is. |

I honestly dont see in opening an adult only forum. But whats the point? As gnomer said, most topics are discussed in the public forums. I would say you have my vote for opening a new forum...but I honestly don't see the point.
Maby im just being biased...I'm 14

my personal opinion is that I have seen other "forums" with "open" topics (like what would probably be used) and it gets so out of hand and ridiculous ... I think it would turn this forum into "every other" forum out there.... which i don't want to see happening... Tech IMO has always been a tolerant place, but the "mods" and Rob, Mike etc... have been able to keep it "clean" to some point... putting in a "adults forum" would just "eventually" add trash to the IMO community ... (nothing against you "Brandon184") , but someone would eventually get in there with with some stupid XXX crap etc... or something else like that...
I see enough as it is in the IMO community forum.. .. why bring more... but then again... If it was put in place, i wouldn't have to visit it anyway....
sry if i put a "negative" vibe into this... I just like Tech IMO the way it is...

if we want politics or world ahappenenings there is cnn.com or bbcworld, this forum i think is okay as it is sur no one disputes that there are 14 /12 year olds running around here but an ao forum will only cause more kids to try get in and people all see the net as a place to cut loose cause there are no consequences if you ban me now whats to stop me from signing up again with another name????
i think just keep it tech as it is and people who want to soil that impression or
kids looking to get into ao stuff wil realise that there is nada here for them ( and this is frm a guy who is 20 but looks 14 have to give my id when i want to buy smokes which are not even for me if i want to voice off about the fact that i have a genetic disesease let me go to medical forum that deals with it (cystic fibrosis )
there are a lot out there so just keep it as it is because some of us will want the anonymity that it give us in a sense (deal with it in your own way or in another forum that will deal with it)
thats my 2c.s
