    Quote Format

Not a very big deal, and if it can't be changed, that's fine...

But I think it would be convenient if the quotes included the time and/or day the person who is being quoted posted. Many times, in larger threads, I try to look back to see in what context the person said what. But that's tough to do, especially in that 20,000 page thread we have. Showing the time and/or date would make things easier in that sense.

As I said, it's no big deal, but it's just something I miss. (Didn't the old forum setup have quotes like that?)

Haha, yeah, that's it. How'd you do that?

Stupid thing...it says it's Central Standard Time because I'm on -4:00 due to the stupid server not acknowledging the whole DST.

Just manually quote things with 'Quote=The poster's name on Friday, September 30th, 23:38 B.S.T.' in square brackets.

Yah, you would have to do it manually. An automatic insert would be nice though.

But when I click "Quote" to quote Martoch, it just says...

[ quote = MY NAME ] Blah blah blah [ / quote ] I don't see where he would've inserted the time and date.

Oh man, am I stupid. Ovbiously when I click quote, I won't be able to see the quote the person quoted who I want to quote. Get it?

That's another thing...the old forum would show quotes inside of quotes inside of quotes, etc. I liked that, too.

TRB, would like for vB3 to auto-post for you as well?

The desired feature would involve script level modifications. Possible, but not fun, so don't look for such a change anytime soon.

Auto-post? Are you implying something, Robert?

Didn't the old forum setup (vB2?) have this feature, though? What's different with this one?

vB3 and vB2 have two relatively different code paths, not to mention our install of vB2 was extremely modified (more like a fork of the source code), yet our install of vB3 is pretty much stock except for a few template changes.
