    BING! I HAVE AN IDEA

I have seen on another forum, (technet)
When a post has been answered they mark the thread as answered,
I thought that might be a cool thing to have in the tech forums,
So when you search the threads, you know if the question was answered,
    What do you think,
i'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?

That's a good idea if you can get people to do it. I've seen it at several forums where when you get your problem sorted, you can go back and edit your thread title by putting [Solved] in it.

"nobody" hasn't been in here yet. Patience, patience...

Sounds like a plan, although I am not sure of the technicalities involved on a vBulletin board, unless there is a mod available already. Maybe if one of the mods can direct this to Scott and Rob's attention for discussion?

    Cheers
    Mick

OK, appears there is a way to do this in vBulletin. Discussion here. I like the Thread Tools idea in Techguy forums.

Could be, but Trendy has linked this thread in yet another suggestion thread, so the odds are good one of the "nobodies" will see it now.

It's not an "answered" button.. it's a SOLVED button.. So, you wouldn't mark it until you found a satisfactory solution the the issue at hand.

A site I frequent uses the "mark this thread resolved." It also places an icon...

Most of the time, the moderators end up doing it...It does come in handy....

I think it's a great idea. The HP forums do something like this. When you search, you find threads marked that the OP had his/her question answered or problem solved.

However, were the forum to implement such a procedure, there's still less than a 50% chance people would do this. The majority of people wouldn't bother.
