    thanks button

I don't see thanks button in the forum. If i would like to thx someone, I have to post one.But I don't wanna post one without any case.I think most of member will be like so. If there is a thx button it will be very nice.jz to click. And we can know who help member in the forum by seeing how many thx he have.So if there is some problem that dont wanna show, can ask via from private message.Jz suggestion.
if I did something wrong. Sorry and jz delete.

Sounds like a plan. Would it be anonymous except to the user who was thanked?? That would be best, I think.

Can't see how this could be as contentious and misused like the point system was, so I would support it.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

    Cheers

I think a simple reply to the forum saying hey thanks it worked.

    This does two things:

    1) It says yes this works so if others stumble on the forum they know it worked
    2) You said your thanks for the help

I had started a thread about marking a thread as answered,
    if somebody's question was answered,

then when someone is searching the forums,
they know if the problem was solved,

but a thanks thingy would be cool,
i'm folding for techimo!! what are you doing?

As was already mentioned, I think writing "Hey, thanks that worked" accomplishes all that is necessary. It let's everyone know that the problem was solved for future reference, and you're getting to show your appreciation for the help. I think that having an "issue solved" label on a thread is a GREAT idea.. !!

When this idea was suggested in the Suggestion Box, someone posted that we could go back and edit our title to note: [Solved]. I think we should all start to implement that immediately until we can get the mods to give us a button!

I agree. They do this on alot of the linux forums. You look at the thread, and right next to the title it will say "Solved" or "Unsolved"

I think this would save people time when looking for solutions...

Trendy, I'm not sure you can actually edit even your own thread title once there has been a reply. I think only a mod can... and I can't see our mods running after us all changing thread titles all the rime...

    Cheers
    Mick

Seems I am half-right (better than being a half-wit I suppose ). You can change the thread title and it only changes in YOUR post title, not the thread title. See here for an example.

when I started reading this post I thought it would be about a script for typing "thanks" or something.

well I can't say I've learned something new here in this post though because it's well known how helpful and gracious people here at TIMO are!

    thanks just the same!

sounds like a suggestion for a rep/points system not just a simple thanks button....once upon a time we had that and it wasn't working to well

I do like the idea of a solved/resolved/answered button....

I really liked the "SOLVED" idea. One other forum I go to has that capability and I must say at least for myself, it aids tremendously in scrolling through a bunch of threads that are outstanding with posts just hanging there, some for a long time.

I am agree with your idea. But we can know easily that current active forums are basically unsolved and the forum where there is no new post for along time may be solved. But anyway it is a very good idea. But i would like to suggest to give this chance to the starter of the forum. As he has fully pleased with the suggestion, he will do it.But if it give to anyone and if someone though that it has already solved and labeled (solved).but the starter is not still please, it will not be nice.Thx.

What if the [Easy Button] was accidentally pressed causing the [Thanks Button] to interact with the [Solved Button]?

I think the [Post Reply button] is starting to feel left out.
