Two Suggestions...

  1. How about a review forum for people to post their reviews on products? Each different tech section could have a review sub-forum. For example, you have Motherboard Tech, then underneath we could have Motherboard Reviews.
  2. Similar to the review section, how about an advice-seeking section? People aren't necessarily having problems with a hard drive, but they want to know which kind/brand to buy...I think that would make a nice sub-forum too.
It would probably make things too busy, messy, and convoluted, but it could be something to mull over...if you like to mull.

There is a User Review section built into the site, although it doesn't get used very often. Maybe there is a way to link your suggested sub-sections to the existing reviews.

Funny how you described exactly what EvilRick posted.

I recently found The User Review section a few months ago.

#2 is RR and TechIMO combined. More TechIMO.

What's RR have to do with #2?

Because that is what RR offers. Along with being able to search companies and see how good they are, there is a forum section where people can seek advice on products they are wanting to buy.

But the only stuff I see on there has to do with stores, not brands and manufacturers.

I like the idea of option 2, but it needs a bit of tweaking IMO.

Unless a manufacturer (Dell, for example) sells right to the consumer, that's not what I was talking about. I know RR is good for store reviews, but I was thinking more along the lines of "which brand/model motherboard should I buy?" I realize that's already in the Motherboard section, but I was under the impression this site is more for technical help, not purchasing assistance (although it has been both).

I just don't think the 'Shopping Advice' part is being used all that much.

I'm sure before long, RR and TIMO will be joined again.
