Can anyone please tell me the point of having the 4 character rule when doing a search. It makes it pretty annoying when I'm doing a search on Opera 7 or Internet Exploer 6. Pretty much eliminating all version numbers.

He's talking about the search function here at TechIMO. And I agree, it is kinda annoying.
It'd be ok if you could define a search phrase by useing quotes, then you could search for "Opera 7". But the way it is now there is no way to search for such a term.
