    server timeout

I keep getting that message that firefox gives about some server timeout.

Its probably my connection, but it just started doing that today and it is getting rather annoying.

Do you drop any ping packets to those sites?

Open a command prompt. Type the following command and hit enter:

    ping techimo.com

It will ping the TechIMO server with a few packets. When done, look at the stats line, and tell us if it shows any loss.

    firefox's latest message:

    Address Not Found

Firefox can't find the server at TechIMO Tech Support Help and Computer Hardware Expert Forums.

The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.

    * Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org")
    * Are you certain this domain address exists? Its registration may have expired.
    * Are you unable to browse other sites? Check your network connection and DNS server settings.
    * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

No loss indicated via ping. You apparently have a client-side or ISP issue.

Could perhaps be DNS related. Try flushing the DNS cache from the command line:

    ipconfig /flushdns

If that helps to resolve the issue, you might consider trying different DNS servers than those provided by your ISP. OpenDNS is popular.

I was talking to my isp earlier and they said they are probably to blame due to some of their servers developing issues lately. Anyway their drop dialup service in my area at the end of may so I was gonna finally get high speed. My friend says he gets it for $10 a month from these guys Hardin Net - Wireless Internet Service Provider and he's had it for a few years now and hasn't had a problem with them yet so I'm calling them tomarrow to see how much it cost for them to set it up.

Best part is that I don't need to worry about whether or not I'm in their service area seeing that they are in the same town as me.
