Disable Ignore Lists
Random thought. Ignore lists should be disabled within the DebateIMO section. If you want to play in the box, you have to play with everyone. No more hiding from people just because they hurt your feelings (which they shouldn't) or because perhaps they've proved a point that makes you uncomfortable. We all have opinions, and we all should share them. If you put something out there, you should have to see everyone's reaction, just not merely pick and choose from a convenient set of posters who agree with you or you have fun picking on. Transparency is paramount.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

How about enabling some way to Ignore the Debate section entirely, from the New Posts Link up top?

I'm rather certain vBulletin doesn't have the ability to do it.
Maybe everyone in the debate forum should ignor each other

I rarely venture into DIMO. When I do, I feel sullied. I wouldn't complain if the whole debate forum was gone.

As it detracts from people contributing to the very reason we all came to Techimo DooG.
At the very least completely remove non-tech discussion from the most active discussion link.
Or not, I spend most days learning over at ocn now

You mean, I could WIN all my debates with no one dissenting??

Why? How can you possibly sharpen your debating skills if you dont have a forum that allows you to practice on the sort of people you will deal with EVERY DAY?
Um, it is already a seperate forum, no need to remove all non-tech discussions from the site. IMO, it adds to the site exactly what the dry tech forums dont - personality.Last edited by no1_vern; July 2nd, 2010 at 01:35 AM.
They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

Re read Vern.
One could argue that the Most Active Discussions Box is The headline due to the location. At the very least completely remove non-tech discussion from the most active discussion link.
Honestly it's all good. I voiced my opinion on the box long ago as I do not personally go through every forum. I look at Most Active and Recent. I was ignored so I must be in the minority. I never payed a dime to become a member of the site or enjoy the advice of the wonderful members here.
Sadly I have seen too many great members either focus on the debate threads and quit posting or participating in tech related threads. To each their own I agree and have since moved on to greener pastures.
I enjoyed my 8 years here thoroughly and sadly cannot unsubscribe to all threads out of sentimental concerns.
