Any chance of adding a Google search bar?
I would make this my homepage in that event.

You should download Opera

It has a google search bar right next to the URL bar if you want it.

Also google has an addon utility you can use for a google bar on IE.

Well haven't I been living under a rock!
Amazing how simple that was to fix...I've been hating Yahoo as a home page, but was dependant on the search feature.
Thanks again.

wow, is that search bar ever fast too! Yahoo's google bar is lethargic.
Ok, I moved in...I'm camping in the community forum.
That's what I like about TIMO, I made a suggestion, and it was implemented in minutes.

That sidebar is great!
Two great tips. Thanks

You're welcome.

And Bob, thank you for being the only person around here who even remembers the sidebar...much less uses it.
Why more people don't use it I don't understand. Not just tootin' my own horn or anything, I just really find it convenient to have right there at my side at all times. That google search comes in handy too.
Oh well, I'm glad one or two of you find it useful.

Mozilla has a feature where you can select a default search engine (google is one), type something into the location bar, then hit the search button and it'll take you to the search results page. No taking up extra screen space with an additional toolbar.
Mozilla's open source, runs on many different platforms, is fast, a heck of a lot more secure than IE/Outlook, and the wood theme is just plain awesome!

If you're worried about space, all it takes is a single keystroke (F9 in Mozilla) to turn the sidebar on/off.

On behalf of "the creators", thanks!

October 10th, 2002, 04:46 PM #17shahaniGuestWell, I use it ever since I changed to Netscape/Mozilla in July I think. The sidebar is very convenient though I still haven't been able to set it up correctly. But it kinda works. In fact, my homepage is the sidebar and from there I can navigate anywhere and still keep an eye on things here.Originally posted by OuTpaTienT

another option in opera (mozilla maybe able to do this as well)
in the URL address bar you can type
'g search phrase here' and it will search google automatically with that phrase.
The only problem with that IMO is it saves the search in History.. I don't want a search in my history I just want urls
lol
