Easy Registry Backup, thanks NDC->>

Many tips and tricks in this forum deals with editing the registry which is a very critical Windows component. Please take the time to make a backup of your current registry by doing the following before you attempt to hack the registry!

Backing up

1. Go to Run and type regedit

2. Look to the top-left of the Registry Editor window and click on File\Export and name the file and select a location for the registry backup to be created.

Restoring

1. Go to Run and type regedit

2. Look to the top-left of the Registry Editor window and click on File\Import select the location for the registry backup to be restored from.

Federal "Do Not Call List"

Federal Law:
Telephone Consumer Protection Act, 47 U.S.C. s.227; 47 C.F.R. s. 64.
The 1991 Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act provides you with legal protections against unwanted telemarketing. Under this law:

You can request to be put on a company’s Do Not Call List.
Telemarketers can only call between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
Callers must identify themselves, their company, and a method by which they can be contacted.
If requested, they must provide you with written information about their Do Not Call policy.
Companies cannot send you a pre-recorded message unless you have given consent.
These rules do not apply to tax-exempt non-profit organizations, pollsters, and calls made to business telephone numbers. You may find the text of this law at: http://www.jmls.edu/cyber/statutes/email/tcpa.html.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has also promulgated rules governing telemarketing and plans to establish a national Do Not Call list. The national list will be in addition to the Massachusetts Do Not Call Registry and to the "no-call" lists maintained by private companies and charities. The FTC rules require charities to honor consumer requests to be removed from the charity's call list. Once it is established, consumers will be able to file complaints on-line or by telephone with the FTC. Information about the FTC rules is available at

I really like this post forum for links. Is there a way to simplify/condense all of these links?
