| Global Warming? Frozen Wave on Lake Michigan Michiganhas had the coldest winter in decades. Water expands to freeze, and at MacinawCity the water in Lake Huron below the surface ice was supercooled. It expanded to break through the surface ice and froze into this incredible wave. I've seen pictures of this wave phenomena in Antarctica, but in Michigan?
Actually, this is Lake Huron...

Wow! Cool pictures. No wonder I needed more fuel oil this winter than in previous winters. |

Yeah... some bogus forward circulates the interweb and becomes yet another crooked, misshapen arrow in the quiver of the ignorant masses.
Tooooooooooooooooo bad that ain't Michigan.
Cool picture though. It'd be neat to go to Antarctica sometime and see them in real life! |

And from a temperature standpoint here in Michigan, it was an average to slightly mild winter. Record precip though. |
