Official Age of Conan Thread!!

I'm curious who here plans on playing this game. It seems like it will be wonderful. Sieges, mass pvp, cool combat system, etc.

I'm also curious as to what type of server ya'll plan on playing on.

btw, we are now in direct competition with the WoW thread. I expect us to be caught up in three days ;D

Preordered the game already of course, PvP server for sure, use to play Everquest 1 for 8 years on Sullon Zek pvp server, than i moved to WoW on pvp server for like 2 or 3 years and now its time to move on again,

by the way about the poll, its

PvE
PvP
RP PvP

all the pvp is FFA PvP even the Role playing servers.

otherwise it would be

PvE
FFA PvP
FFA RP PvP

for y'all who still dont know the grafix of the game and want to see some real grafix in the game, here is a link and still its quite not as good resolution as it deserves.

hehe well that's what I meant, I didn't mean to imply that RP-PVP was not FFA. Looks like I have a good guild lined up as well. It also seems like the top guilds will be joining the same pvp server, meaning at the beginning there is likely to only be one good pvp server. Also, we might join an RP-PVP server, they haven't decided yet.

I want to get the game on release but i want to find a good guild first. I havnt really had time to check out their community forums to see what kinda guilds are out there.

I normally am not good with the PVP since i seem to be a victim far more then the ganker. I like the ease of moving around without having to ALWAYS travel in a group, cramps my solo play style.

I also don't like guilds in WoW and it has left a bad taste in my mouth about them. IF i end up getting the game i need to know my guild is solid and reliable. I hate the idea of stupid drama in a guild and fractures causing the guild to restart from the core every six months.

I've only played in pvp servers sense everquest 1 came out heh, I love the pvp servers because of a few reasons, 1, you are getting closer to your guild sense you have to help them with pvp and they have to help you with pvp, you travel more in groups cause of this reason as well, also people share more in pvp servers as there is now a good reason why you want your guild members to have good armor and weapons and what not, help them help you system pretty much, and age of conan takes this to the limit, the first 20 lvls will be like chop chop any how, not much pvp and if it is its just kill or be killed kinda system no real tactic.

I pre ordered the game, and I will start up a guild as soon as members are joining the game, its mainly good members from my pvp server in WoW but of course we will be picking up stray people as well.

If you want to join us Ill be happy.

I was accepted in a pvp guild called the Varangian Guard today. It seems that all of the good pvp guilds plan on joining the same server so that they have good competition. They don't know yet if it will be RP-PVP or PVP but the major guilds seem to be leaning towards RP. The dynamics of an FFA server with large, solid guilds will be amazing.

Keep in mind that a big guild will have problems in AoC as there is a member limit in sieges and defense of keeps / towns, better to find a smaller guild.

Funny you ask cause i went to my old guild that i left cause they were being ... well childish. What time zone are you guys mostly in?

Central time, but I tend to play from morning to late nights when im off
I am now downloading the pre access for the 17th, like 16 gig download blah
unfortunatly they have not releaced the name of the servers yet so we can not set a server to join as of yet, but i'm sure they will let us know soon.

I'm off to get my new vid card now probably a 9800 or 9600 ill check prices as i get there.

Im a west coaster, so i typically play after 9pm Pacific. I was hoping that after my last debachle of a guild on WoW i would find people that actually played on the same time zone. If that seems to fit with your normal play times, then we might have a match.
