Linux/Windows combined?

i had a news story about this a few week ago..

it's linux with a windows-looking windowmanager and intergrated support for windows apps without an emulator.

it's too bad lindows has come under fire from Redmond's litigation army, though. Be careful giving them your E-mail address, M$ just subpoenaed 'em in a wierd way to get the trial moved somewhere.

what do ya expect, microsoft is gonna do business. and if someone comes too close to their name, they're gonna protect it.

I agree, somehow when Microsoft tries to do something like this they are looked down upon, although many other companies do the same thing all the time. Personally in this case I think Lindows/Windows should be defended. That is rather close in name.

Would they complain that it is too close to DOS?
and its LindowsOS anyway
if ya throw the OS on the end, its completely different.

"Lindos" would still be too close for M$'s liking.

Anyway, last I heard (at least here in Canada) you can't copyright individual letters or individual numbers, only strings of letters and numbers. It doesn't matter how close they sound when you say them...
