Q3 ThermoHAWK 200 Infrared Thermometer Review
Quote:
All of the pen-sized thermometers are very handy and allow an instant temperature check of almost any object. Inside is a patent-pending thermopile sensor on a chip technology that has advantages over the older pyrometer infrared sensors. This basically means that the once large sensor device needed is now small enough to fit inside a metal housing. This metal cylinder is designed to prevent electromagnetic and electrostatic interferences, and results in accurate temperature readings, +/- 2.5%. I found this spec to be correct. After spending some time running around the house checking surfaces, the accuracy was about a 1-2°C. This is certainly very acceptable for most applications, like Electrical, Household, Automotive, Recreation, Office, Hobby, and more.
